the lab

Kotliar Lab is a personal inquiry practice made public. Some questions become WEEKLY articles. Some need a continuing thread. Some remain a source file until the evidence is strong enough to deserve an interpretation.

The lab is broad by design. Its organizing principle is not a topic category but a kind of attention: define the question, inspect the evidence, expose the inference, and say what could prove it wrong.

Evidence is kept distinct from the explanation applied to it. Interpretation is stated as an argument, not smuggled in as fact. Prediction, when useful, commits an interpretation to an observable result.

Every substantial inquiry also asks what would change the conclusion. If that answer is “nothing,” the page is not doing research.

Issue 1 source panels retain the author-supplied source URLs and connect them to numbered citations beside the claims they support. Evidence, inference, prediction, and counterargument remain visibly distinct.

The five Issue 1 articles are published editorial files. Continuing or planned thread entries remain clearly labeled until their evidence files are complete.
